Jeffrey Hawkins II Obituary

Jeffrey William “Puzzles” Hawkins, 20, of Clarksburg, went to be with his heavenly father on Monday November 19, 2018 as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born in Clarksburg on November 2, 1998, son of Tiffany Lantz and Jeffrey W. Hawkins and his wife Nichole Dolan, with whom he made his home. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Mercedes Hawkins, Haley Hawkins, and Lyndszy Blankenship; two brothers, John Robert Hawkins and John “Caleb” Dolan; maternal grandmother, Cathie Cox and maternal grandfather, Roy Lantz of Clarksburg; paternal grandparents, William “Bill” and Sandra “Sue” Hawkins,of Clarksburg; and his extended family, Mitch, Amy, and Chase Lucas. He leaves behind his aunts, Carol (Jay) Evans, Cheryl (Sam) Hawkins, and Cathy (Guy) Mobley, Latisha (Nick) Higgins, Samantha Lantz, and numerous cousins, great aunts, and great uncles. He also leaves his loving church family at the Congregational Missionary Church in Stonewood.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Terry Cox and great aunt Courtney Cottrill.

When Jeffrey was little, he loved being with his family and spending time at Holly River State Park, camping, swimming and fishing. He attended Horizons youth when he was little.  He played basketball, baseball, and youth football mostly for South Harrison Hawks. He loved animals, dogs, cats and especially snakes. Jeffrey was a 2017 graduate of Liberty High School.  He was actively involved in the North Central West Virginia Emmaus and Chrysalis Community and served on the Chrysalis Board of Directors. He volunteered weekly at Congregational Missionary Church’s youth group and served as a leader each summer at both CMC Youth Camp and Camp ReJoice. He enjoyed working with children through Celebration Place at Celebrate Recovery at Clarksburg Baptist Church and also through Harrison County Parks and Recreation’s Summer Program. He was quick to volunteer for missions projects, to serve anonymously, and to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Jeffrey was a devout follower of Jesus and an avid fisherman who especially loved trips to Bergoo, WV. He was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Affectionately known as Puzzles, he had a contagious smile and a gift for comedic timing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
