Jean Corder, 80 of Bridgeport, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family. Jean’s life revolved around her family and many friends. She was born April 27, 1939 in Clarksburg, WV; the daughter of the late Boyd Roger and Wilma Isabelle Moodispaugh.
Jean graduated from R.W. High School, Class of 1957. She was happiest being a devoted wife, mother grandmother and more recently great grandmother. Through the years she had several jobs retiring from UHC but enjoyed traveling and volunteering. Her love of traveling included several overseas trips with her husband. She was a lifetime member of Clarksburg League for Service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Nutter Fort where she was active with American Baptist Women. Jean loved her family and especially the grandchildren and got a joy out of life being around people and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of sixty one years, Lynn Corder; their two children, Dr. Steven Corder and fiancée Shannon Singer and Shari Weaver and husband Gene. Her five grandchildren, Mandi Bridges (Jared), Jessica Davis (Josh) Michelle Corder, Brady Weaver (fiancée Fanny), and Steven Corder II; Plus four great grandchildren Carsyn, Ross, Blake and Reid; one sister, Peggy Cross and husband David. Jean leaves behind many friends, including a special friend Sarah Mason.
In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her two siblings, Virginia Hill and Gary Moodispaugh.
Family will receive friends at First Baptist Church, 214 Maryland Ave, Nutter Fort, on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until time of Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM with Rev Don Fowler officiating.
