James “Sonny" Dee Nicholson 51, of Clarksburg passed away on May 18, 2019. He was born April 13, 1968 in Clarksburg. He is the son of James Edward and Katherin Louise Shuman Nicholson.
James graduated from WI Class of 1986. He attended Fairmont State College where he played football. James enjoyed football, track, golf, collecting coins, and spending time with his niece and nephews. He was a kicker and a running back for the Semi-Pro team Charleston Lightning. James worked at Dan Cava Toyota World.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his twin brother Ronald Lee Nicholson (“Ronnie”) and wife Irene and their children Seth, who was James godson and was preceded in death on June 10, 2016; niece and nephews survive, Olivia and her fiancé Willie and their son Amanii Romano, Brandon, Joshua, and Leo Alexander from Northview; sister, Kimberly Burt and husband Brian and their children Kyle, Wesley, Christian, and wife Jordan and their son Braxton all from New London, Ohio; fiancée Carmella Jo Cleavenger and her children Brandy West and her husband Kody and their children Liam & Henry, Tabatha Duffy and husband Payton and their daughter Henley, Seth Duffy; Aunts & Uncles, Gene and Marylou ( Mia) Hayes, Monica Nicholson, Butch Nicholson, Ricky Nicholson; He was preceded in death by Ronald E. Shuman, and Shirley A. Conley; Cousins surviving, Rocky Hayes and wife Angie, Terry Cumberledge, Mark Cumberledge, Peggy Cumberledge Lasco.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr, Clarksburg, on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 2-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 PM with Pastor Michael Warren Holyfield and Pastor Mark Greaver officiating. Interment will follow at Union Mission Church Cemetery, Doddridge County.
