James "Jay Bird" L Cummings

James “Jay Bird” L Cummings, 57 of Clarksburg passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at his residence with family by his side.  He was born April 18, 1961 in Hollywood, FL, son of the late Robert Cummings and Mary Catherine Carpenter Cummings who survives in Clarksburg. Jay graduated from Fairmont State and California College.  He was working at UHC as a registered respiratory therapist since 1978. His hobbies included bear hunting, fishing in the Gulf Stream for marlin, sail, tuna and wahoo.  He was a huge supporter of Donald Trump and worked very hard to campaign for his presidency.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Michelle Morgan and husband Anthony, Bridgeport and her mother, Brenda Richards, Stonewood; two grandsons, Jacob and Noah Claypool; stepson, Sam Brunetti, Morgantown, step grandson, Benjamin Lamp; three siblings, Denise Karlen, Clarksburg, Ray Cummings and wife Leslie, Clarksburg; Robert “Bo” Cummings and Jeanette Koontz, Spelter; stepmother, Mona Scott Cummings; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Cummings and wife Wendy, brother-in-law, John Karlen. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 2-8pm; Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 11:00 am with Reverend Sherman Goodwin officiating.
