Jack Marshall Stewart

Jack Marshall Stewart, 91 of Clarksburg passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at his residence. He was born August 29, 1926 in Weston, WV; the son of the late Dorsey G and Irene Nancy Wall Stewart.

Mr. Stewart proudly served in the US Navy during WWII in the European and Pacific Theatre. He retired from the B & O Railroad after 44 years of service and was one of the last to be qualified on steam and diesel engines.  He was a member of the American Legion Post # 13, Clarksburg and the Masonic Lodge A.F&A.M Lodge 107 at Camden on the Gauley.  He was an honorary member of the Locomotive Engineers of Cleveland, OH.  He was a member of Barnes Memorial Baptist Church and previously the First Missionary Baptist Church.

Jack is survived by his wife of over thirty six years, Alice Mae Stewart; two sons, Jack Marshall Stewart and companion Karen of Tuppers Plains, OH, James Leland Stewart and wife Suzanne of Dale City, VA; three step-sons, Samuel Cover and wife Cathy of Huntington, James Campell III, and Jeff Campbell, both of Clarksburg; one step-daughter, Patricia Campbell of Clarksburg; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one sister Ester Ann Campbell of FL.

In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his step-son Russell Campbell; three sisters, Irene Ivins, Doris Weis, and Shelly Endress; and two brothers, Eugene Stewart and James Stewart.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr, Clarksburg, on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 10:00am until the time of Funeral Service at 12:00 noon with Pastor ­­­­­­­DJ Hoff presiding. Interment will follow at West Virginia Memorial Gardens in Calvin, WV where Masonic Graveside Rites will be conducted by Camden on the Gauley Masonic Lodge No. 107, A.M. &A.M. and military honors accorded by the Webster County Honor Guard and the US Navy Reserves.
