Francis "Frank" J. Mangan

On December 25, 2019, Francis (Frank) J. Mangan, 89, passed away while being welcomed by his loving mother at the gates of heaven. Frank was born September 13, 1930 to the late Patrick and Lillian.  Frank was also preceded in death by his brother Richard, as well as his brother’s in law Mike and John Sr. 

Frank Served in the US Navy during the Korean War as a Mine Layer.  After serving he went on to be a Mail Carrier for the USPS.  After suffering a back injury, Frank went to work for the Department of Social Security in Queens, NY.  When Frank retired he decided to follow his love of the great outdoors and move to West Virginia where Frank was at peace.  He loved tinkering with things, bird watching, and sitting on his porch with a beer in hand.  Frank also enjoyed camping, fishing, and bowling.  Frankie’s favorite past time of all was “chasing…never catching.” 

A devoted father to his sons: James and Robert (Marina), and daughter Christine (Donald) Eliassen.  A grandfather to: Edward and Brian Eliassen, Britney, Joshua, Janelle and Timothy Mangan.  A loving brother to: Theresa and Maureen, and uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. 

His family wishes to thank all of his friends for welcoming him into the great state of West Virginia and making him feel at home.
