Evelyn Virginia Tharp

Evelyn Virginia. Tharp, 80, of Fairmont, formerly Clarksburg passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at United Hospital Center. She was born October 4, 1936 in Clarksburg, WV; daughter of the late Cletis Otis Dolly and Effie Beatrice Talkington Shriver Dolly.

Evelyn is survived by her children Michael L Tharp of Flemington, WV, Timothy A and Terri Tharp of Clarksburg, WV, Shelley S. Tharp of Fairmont, WV, Cynthia L. Howe of Wardensville, WV, Susan K Tharp of Fairmont, WV; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Hope Rowe of Augusta, WV; nieces, Ginger Ray White of Alabama, Valerie D Riggleman of Shanks, WV. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Marion Tharp, who preceded her in death on April 4, 1974.

Evelyn worked for over 20 years at United Hospital Center as an Admissions Clerk. Her faith was strong and she loved God; Evelyn was a member of the Mountain of Faith Church in Wallace. She enjoyed collecting angels, reading, watching westerns, NCIS, MacGyver and Star Trek; but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 2:00-8:00pm; services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00am with Pastor Mike Hamrick presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
