Ellen Hannah Obituary

Ellen Louisa (Shultz) Hannah, 77, of Hepzibah, went home to be with the Lord and her husband Blake Hannah Jr. on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Ellen was born on November 16, 1940 in Clarksburg, daughter of the late Dorothy Madaline (Deem) Farnsworth and Kenneth Wesley Shultz. She graduated from Victory High School in 1958. Ellen retired from the US Postal Service in 2000.  She worked as a postal clerk for the Shinnston Post Office for over twenty-nine years. She enjoyed listening to Christian music, gardening, making floral arrangements, being in the outdoors, collecting angels and spending time with her dog. Ellen served as a committee member for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 559 in Shinnston. She also enjoyed working at The Lord’s Pantry in Shinnston.  She was a member of the Hepzibah Baptist Church and the Senior Citizen’s Center in Spelter.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Blake Charles Hannah Jr., one daughter, Cathy Lee; one grandson, Patrick Hamilton; one brother, Perry Farnsworth Jr; and her step-father Perry Farnsworth.

 Those Ellen leaves behind to cherish her memory include; one daughter, Tammy Hamilton and her husband David of Clarksburg; one son, Blake Hannah of Hepzibah; and a grandson/adopted son, Christopher Hannah and his wife Jessica of Hepzibah; six grandchildren, Keith Wagner, Angela Lee, Brandon Lee, James Hamilton, Blake Hannah, James “Jimmy” Hannah,  Charleigh Annelise Hannah and several great-grandchildren; three sisters Arzania “Janie” Cumberledge of Charleston, WV; Diana McGee of Lost Creek, and Fannie “Ginger” Mayle and her husband Ronnie of Shinnston; her brother, Richard Farnsworth and his wife Phyllis of Clarksburg, sister-in law Betty Farnsworth of Dothan, AL; several nieces and nephews; and most of all her faithful four legged companion Angel.

The family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98 on Sunday September 30, 2018 from 2-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11 am with Pastor Mike Stottlemyer officiating. Interment will follow at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
