Debra Janean (Gillum) Carrico

Debra Janean Gillum Carrico, 64 of Buckhannon passed away December 29, 2019 at United Hospital Center with family by her side.  She was born May 28, 1955 in Buckhannon, daughter of Dorse Eugene Gillum Sr. of Buckhannon and the late Etta Darleen Cunningham Gillum.  Debra graduated Buckhannon Upshur High School, Class of 1972.  She worked formerly as a teacher’s aide at the Child Development Center at West Virginia Wesleyan College and a bank teller for Central National Bank and Premier Bank in Buckhannon.  She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Buckhannon where she taught Sunday School and worked with the Youth Group. She was a volunteer with the Upshur County Special Olympics and enjoyed attending the competitions.  In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Joseph Lee Carrico whom she married on April 27, 1980; three daughters, Andrea L Carrico, Teays Valley, Dorian R Carrico, Buckhannon, Tasha C Carrico, Buckhannon; one brother, Dorse Eugene Gillum Jr and wife Deanna, Buckhannon; best friend of forty years, Belinda Tinney; several nieces and nephews.  Debra donated her body to WVU Human Gift Registry in hopes of helping others. Family will receive friends at Faith Baptist Church in Buckhannon on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 3:00 PM until time of the Celebration of Life Service at 4:00PM with Rev.
