Charles Benjamin Collins Sr., 78 of Nutter Fort passed away Saturday November 24, 2018 at his residence. He was born November 16, 1940 in Clarksburg, son of the late Kenneth Roscoe and Lula Gay Harper Collins.
Charles attended WI High School. He served our country in the United US Army and US Navy. Charles retired as a conductor and brakeman with B&O and Chessie Railroad. His hobbies were fishing, cooking and gardening.
He is survived by his six children, Tammy Winters, Salem, Sherrie Dodd, Nutter Fort, Charles “Ben” Collins Jr and wife Karla, Bristol, Daniel Collins, Perry, GA, Matthew “Matt” Collins and wife Beatrix, Duncan, SC, Christopher Collins, Salem; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Collins; one sister, Shirley Collins; very close cousin, Chester “Cheaty” Harper; and his four legged companion, Susie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Wendy Sue Collins; two sons, Jody Lee Collins and Baby Boy Collins; two brothers, Kenny Collins and Sonny Collins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98 Clarksburg/Nutter Fort from 12 noon until time of service at 2:00 PM with Al Buzzelli officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens where military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and US Army Honor Guard.
