Brady Arlington Avey, 83, of Rivesville, passed Saturday, August 10, 2019 at his home with family by his side. He was born in Manassas, VA, on September 11, 1935, the son of the late Ruth Fox Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Shears Avey on November 14, 2016.
Brady is survived by seven children, Cynthia Lafferty & Richard, Nutter Fort, Karen Cone, Port Ritchie, FL, Dwayne Wilson & Darlene, Baltimore, MD, Glenda Griffin & Chuck, Hurlock, MD, Brian Bender, Baltimore, MD, Sharon Bender, Arnettsville, and Terri Hedrick & Jerry Smith, Charlestown; a brother-in-law, Ronald Shears, Baltimore, MD, twenty three grandchildren including Tara Perri & John Jr, Stonewood, Eric Royal & Tammy, Monongah, and Kayla Bender & James Arnold, Fairmont, Travis Baker & Nikkie, Rivesville, forty one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother and wife, Brady was preceded in death by a daughter, Naomi Radcliffe, one son, Gary Avey; one great granddaughter, Allana Baker; brother-in-law, Charles Shears and sister-in-law, Deborah Shears.
Brady retired as a truck driver with Buffalo Express Co. for over twenty five years. His hobbies were working on trucks and being outdoors.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr, Clarksburg, on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 2:00PM until time of Funeral Service at 4:00PM with Pastor DJ Hoff officiating.
