Avis G. Smith

Avis G. Smith ,93 of Grafton, passed away Thursday, February 18,2010 at
Beulahland Nursing Home. She was born December 1, 1916 in Taylor County a daughter of the late Elias and Inez Withers Smith.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grafton, American Baptist Women, the 2:15 Class of The First Baptist Church.
She loved to travel and she made many trip to the Holy Land.
She was a Retired School Teacher with over 41 years of service. Retiring in 1981
From Anna Jarvis Elementary School and taught at West Side School.
She was a member of the, The Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority, and the Webster C.E.O.S Club. WV. Association of Retired School Employees.
Avis is survived by her brother and sister-in-law; Edmund and Gene Smith, Aliquippa, Pa. one nephew; Dr. Gary Lee and Karen Smith of Sewickly, Pa, one great nephew; Brian and Aubrey Smith, two great nieces; Emily and James Bauersmith, and Margaret Galey Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Bartlett Funeral Home, Grafton with the Rev. Orville Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Hepzibah Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00a.m. to 12Noon. Donations to Hospice of Taylor County.
