Alma Grace Carmichael, 86, of Wolf Summit went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at her residence with family by her side. She was born December 24, 1931; the daughter of the late Arthur Denzle and Thelma Grace Bauserman Murphy.
Alma is survived by her two children, Sharon Ann Carmichael of Columbus, MS, and Rodney Carmichael and significant other, Clem Floyd of Wolf Summit; one grandson, Christopher Claypole, Columbus, MS; two brothers, Kenneth Joe Murphy, CA and William Eugene Murphy of Keyser, WV; special niece who was a huge help in the last few years with Alma’s care, Dottie Lowe, of Wolf Summit, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Alma is preceded in death by her husband, Wilber V. Carmichael on December 20, 2010, whom she married on March 30, 1961; one son, Donald “Donnie” Keith Hitt; three sisters, Ruby Cozad, Alberta Smith, Lucille Grisham; three brothers, Jack Murphy, Charles Murphy and Marvin Murphy.
Alma graduated from Unidis High School in Good Hope, WV. She was a homemaker. She was a member Wesleyan United Methodist Church in Wolf Summit. She enjoyed crocheting, coloring, gardening, flowers and watching the birds.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 1-6 Pm; Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Jerome Lewis presiding. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice.
