Agnes Marie Berggren, 89 of Clarksburg passed away on May 9, 2018 at her residence with family by her side. She was born on December 8, 1928 in Glassport, PA, daughter of the late Joseph B and Annabelle M Morgan Gribschaw. Agnes graduated from Glassport High School, Class of 1946 and she completed her Beautician training and received her license. She worked as a beautician in her early years. Once her children were born, she left the work place to be a homemaker. She loved to cook and bake. Agnes was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing bridge. She was a devoted catholic. She is survived by four children, Pamela Ann Lipscomb, Charleston, WV, Patricia Ann Hammitt and husband Kenneth, Jr, Nutter Fort, Carl J Berggren and wife Jacqueline, South Haven, MI, Paula Marie Kisner, Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Jared Hammitt and Jamie, Columbia, SC, Brandon Lee Hammitt, Salem, Jordan Ryan Eugene Hammitt, Nutter Fort, WV, Jenna Edythe Berggren, Fort Myers and Jason Andrew Berggren both of Fort Myers, FL; one great grandson, Maddox James Hammitt, Salem, WV one sister, Patricia Fleming, Irwin, PA; one brother, Eugene Gribschaw, North Huntingdon, PA; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Richard Berggren on February 25, 2007 whom she married on November 23, 1950; sisters, Genevieve Iskat, Emma Takacs, Dolores Bordogna, Mary T. Hudak, and Annie Webster; brothers, James and Joseph Gribschaw; and three siblings in infancy. A graveside service will be on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the WV National Cemetery with Father Andrew Switzer as celebrant. Online condolences may be sent to DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.
