Virginia Capicola, 88, of Clarksburg, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehab.
She was born in Philippi, WV, August 7, 1926; daughter of the late Stanley I. Delauder and Pearl Bryan Delauder.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, of 55 years, Joseph (Joe) Capicola; five sisters, Oleda, Auldine, Velvadeen Delauder, Vera Poling, Lueray Weaver; two brothers, Carl Delauder, who was killed in World War II and Donald Delauder.
She is survived by four brothers, Winfield Delauder, Randolph (Dorothy) Delauder, Andy (Mina) Delauder all of Indiana, Denver (Ellen) Delauder of Belington, WV.
She was a lifetime Member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW No. 573. She was a former member of Tacy United Methodist Church in Barbour County. Baptized by the late Reverend Denver Dickens, she read her bible every day. She previously attended Northview United Methodist Church. She worked as a machine operator at the Grafton Manufacturing Co. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening.
She leaves behind several nieces and nephews, a special niece, Juliana and Sam Scolapio; one great nephew, Gregory and AnnaBelle Scolapio all of Clarksburg;
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, Rt. 98 Clarksburg/Nutter For, on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 3:00-7:00pm; a mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 1:00pm with Father Alfred Obiudu
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
