Shirley Lauvon McCartney

Mrs. Shirley Lauvon McCartney, age 73, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

Shirley was born on August 4, 1941 in New Hill, WV a daughter of the late Ross and Tressie Lester Silcott. She was a homemaker and a member of Weslyn Methodist Church in Wolf Summit. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 9 sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lindsey A. " Squeak" McCartney, whom she married on May 3, 1958; 3 daughters, Lisa and Carl Gori, of NJ, Michele Counts, of Clarksburg, Melanie McCartney and Nelson McCloy, Jr., of Clarksburg; son, James A. McCartney, of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Alexis Spotloe, Dillon Koontz, Zachary & Taylor Lynn Shives, Katelyn & Grace Counts and Natalie McCloy; 2 sisters, Nancy Drainer, of Clarksburg and Sandra Swiger, of Weirton; brother, Warder Silcott, of OH; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm at Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98 Clarksburg/Nutter Fort.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Knight, presiding.
Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
