Ruby J. Gillespie

Mrs. Ruby J. Gillespie, age 88, of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at UHC in Bridgeport with her family by her side.

She was born on June 13, 1926 in Clarksburg, WV a daughter of the late Russell and Leona Smith Gain. Ruby retired from the telephone company where she was an operator and service rep. She was a member of Hepzibah Baptist Church, member of the Telephone Pioneers and also the oldest living original Gore resident. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Guy Gillespie who passed in July 2009.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sylvia Gillespie, of Midland, NC, and Thomas Gillespie, of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren, Pamela and Hoby Lowe, Robert and Lynn Gillespie, Todd and Heather Gillespie; 3 step-grandchildren, Chris and Angie Haigler, Bryan and Stephanie Haigler, and Jason and Amanda Haigler; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4:00-8:00pm at Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98 Clarksburg/Nutter Fort.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00am from the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Rev. David Baker, presiding.
Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
