Raymond Howard Feathers

Raymond Howard Feathers, age 85, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born November 1, 1929 in Monongalia, WV the son of the Curtis Jessie Feathers and Nellie Marie (Engle) Feathers.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia Rose (Paletta) Feathers of Clarksburg, WV; two sons, Jerry Feathers & his wife, Diana of Mint Hill, NC and Mike Feathers & his wife, Linda of Clarksburg, WV; a daughter, Diana Drake & her husband, Steve of Fairmont, WV; seven grandchildren, Eric Feathers, Kevin Feathers, Mike Feathers, Jr., Robert Feathers, Thelma Jean Smith, Stephanie Drake, and Bryan Drake; nine great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and special friends and relatives that helped take care of him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Norman Feathers; one half-brother, Elmer Manning; two half-sisters, Arlene Shoup and Leah Rosensteel.

Raymond enjoyed going to car shows and being a volunteer at Heartland Nursing Home, and listing to country music. In his younger years he square danced and he called the square dance figures. Raymond was a coal miner for 44 years for Consol Local 9909.
Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle who enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

The family will receive friends at Davis funeral Home on Rt. 98/Clarksburg, Friday, July 31, 2015 from 3:00 - 7:00pm, where a vigil service will be held at 6:00pm. A catholic funeral rite will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:00am from the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Father Chris Turner, presiding. Interment will follow in Enterprise I. O. O. F.
