Norma Jean Coleman

Norma Jean Coleman passed from this life on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at her residence in Bridgeport. She was born in Grafton, WV on January 7, 1932, a daughter of the late John and Nina Richards.
In her new Heavenly home, she joins her late husband, Cecil J. Coleman, whom she married January 14, 1950 and who preceded her in death on November 19, 1999.
Norma retired from the Harrison County Board of Education, having worked as a cook at South Harrison High School and Broadway Elementary. For the first 23 years of her marriage, she was a homemaker and loving mother to nine children, who all survive: Stephen (Jolie) Coleman of Pahrump, NV; Cathy (Rod) Marple of Jane Lew, WV; Susan (Jerry) Garrett of Mount Clare, WV; Amy (Otto) Kaiser of Fairmont, WV; John Coleman of Shinnston, WV; Mark (Lecia) Coleman of Lumberport, WV; Stanley (Marilyn) Coleman of Lost Creek, WV; Chris (Martha) Coleman of Milton, VT; and Patrick (Shelly) Coleman of Hurricane, WV. She was greatly loved by twenty-nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; One sister, Betty (Jim) Stutler of Lost Creek, WV..
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by by nine brothers and three sisters.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Beth Elko who, for several years, came faithfully to our mother's home to cut and style her hair.
Honoring the wishes of their mother, the family will not have any public visitation. A private family funeral and celebration of her life will be held later this week.
