Marshall Joseph "Joe" Bennett, 86, of Bridgeport, passed away July 29, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born in Buckhannon, WV on May 11, 1928 the son of Ulysses Grant Bennett and Elaine (Brothers) Bennett.
He is survived by his three daughters & son-in-laws, Joyce Bott & her husband, Mark of Munhall, PA, Jan Rolfes of Bridgeport, WV and JoLynn Lucas & her husband, Art Sprinkel of Frederick, MD; six grandchildren, Olivia, Aaron & Alaina Bott, Bennett & Melissa Rolfes and John Lucas; a great-grandson, Ace Rolfes; a brother, Gay Bennett & his wife, Joann; two sisters, Doris Shaffer & her husband, Virgil and Joann Smith; and his cat, Miss Nora.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Connie J. Bennett; two brothers, John and Richard Bennett; and a son-in-law, Edward Rolfes.
Mr. Bennett was a United States Air force Veteran.
A private memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home, Rt. 98, Clarksburg with Pastor Richard Settles, presiding. A private inurnment will take place at a later date in Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Florida.
