Johnny A "Crow" Krosmico

February 13, 1927 ~ April 9, 2014 (age 87) 87 Years Old
Johnny Andrew Krosmico, 87, of Clarksburg, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Clarksburg on February 13, 1927, the son of the late Martin and Mary Bai Krosmico. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Louie, Joseph, Brownie, Frank, and Steve Krosmico; and two sisters, Anna Grossa and Carolyn Galka.

He is survived by his wife Angelina. In addition, to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Diane Krosmico Viglianco of Clarksburg and one son, Rick "Carl" Krosmico of Jane Lew. His only grandchild, Tia Viglianco, who he always called his "favorite" granddaughter, resides in Fairfax, VA.

John, known to his friends as "Crow" retired from the city of Clarksburg fire department and also worked as a processor for the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. Many years ago, John worked as an ambulance driver for the fire department before they had private ambulance companies.

John was in the US Army and served in the Korean War. His basic training was in Fort Know, Kentucky. He was stationed in Germany, and loved to tell stories about his army adventures with his friends. He always said he was keeping the Koreans out of Germany! He spoke fluent Polish and was able to understand the Russian shoulders as he was guarding the border.

He loved to tell stories and had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening with his son Rick. He helped his wife can peppers and tomato juice every year. When his granddaughter was young, he loved going to the old "Canteen" for a milkshake. Whenever she would call him after she graduated from college and moved away, his face would light up and you could hear the excitement in his voice. He would always remind his daughter to change her oil and to be careful on the roads! He gave his family a weather report every day during the winter!

He enjoyed his time at the American Legion with his numerous friends having a cold beer!

No visitation will be held. Committal Catholic Rites will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 1:00pm from the West Virginia National Cemetery with Father Jude Anyaeche, presiding. Full Military Honors will follow and be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and Camp Dawson. Davis Funeral Home, Rt. 98/Clarksburg is in charge of arrangements.
