Catherine Anna Shaffer

Mrs. Catherine Anna Shaffer, age 92 of Ohio, formally of Clarksburg passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Camden Clark Medical Center following an illness.

She was born on January 17, 1923 in Glen Falls, WV a daughter of the late Frank Kovar, Sr. and Mary Ilshak Kovar. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Shaffer; son, Jimmy Ashcraft, Sr.; sisters, Mary Stutler and Sophia Cochran; brothers, Frank Kovar, Tom Kovar, and Johnny Kovar.

She is survived by daughters, Glennie Woodruff, of TX and Anna Harper, of OH; son, Woodrow Wilson Shaffer, of OH; 10 grandchildren, David Shaffer, Mary Rickman, Larry Woodruff, Michelle Shaffer, Cindy Shaffer, Kathygail Starling, Jimmy Lee Ashcraft, Jr., Walter Lee Ashcraft, Kenny W. Ashcraft, and Amanda Hinton; 42 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Julie Simon, of OH; 2 brothers, Steve Kovar and Felix Kovar, both of Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 2:00-8:00pm at Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98 Clarksburg/Nutter Fort.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00am from the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Kovar Cemetery.
