Bernadine Lea Griffith

Bernadine Lea Griffith, 91, Clarksburg, passed away after a two month illness, Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the United Hospital Center.
She was the only child of the late Fred F. and Idress E. Hoover Smith. Bernadine graduated from Nicholas County High School and West Virginia Business College. In 1951, she married the love of her life, the late James G. Griffith. She was a homemaker, delighting herself in caring for her family and friends, enjoying collecting photographs of them all through the stages of their lives.
Bernadine is survived by; her son Timothy M. Griffith and his wife Lisa; two grandchildren Leigh Griffith-Seebach and her husband Eric, and J. Grayson Griffith all of Seymour, Tennessee; a lifelong friend Virginia Hickman of Charleston; and many cousins on both the Smith and Hoover sides of the family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bernadine was preceded in death by a lifelong friend Waneta Jewell.
The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, Rt. 98, Clarksburg, from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 5:00 - 7:00pm, Monday, January 23, 2017, and one hour prior to the service. The service will be held at11:00am at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 24, 2017with Pastor Dustin McCune officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
